So getting back on topic = how many of us have been ‘busted by Council’ over the years

Let me start =

I was ‘busted’ once
the Council sent the Ranger around to talk to me = he saw my birds, he fell in love, he went home with 6 birds
he also put in a report that I was complying with all Councils regulations

# another complaint = same person (funny that hey!)
Different Ranger – told me abt the complaint looked around and confirmed I was complying = he came back the next day asking if I had any spare chooks – he had told his wife abt the lovely chooks and she said “see if we can get some for the backyard” so I gave him 3 birds as that was all he wanted

# yet another complaint (yet again same person)
1st Ranger turned up and we had afternoon tea inside = nice fresh out of the oven cake, biscuits and coffee while he told me how well the girls he got were going – he then went to the complainer and told them ‘to pull their head in’ as I was complying to every condition the Council had set when I first applied to have chooks there

# yet another complaint
1st Ranger again but with 2 ‘chook officials’ from the newly formed ‘chook enforcement division'. They looked, they fell in love, they too went home with birds

# yet another complaint
1st Ranger turned up advising that as the Council had no argument with me they were advising the complainer in writing that she was being placed on the ‘serial complainer register’

Well all that did was infuriate her so she went to a Solicitor = she was taking both Council and me to Court to force Council to force me to get rid of the birds =
What her Solicitor (and her) didn’t realise was that I had contacted Council when I was served and they got back to me later that day to say THEY had been served as well
The Councils Solicitors (yes the whole team) arrived WITH me as both their and my representatives = we won

Funny that hey!

I have of course since moved to a bigger place (didnt need to garbage of that neighbour)

We are dealing with a new neighbor that has called the council about our 2 roosters but we live in semi rural so the law at this stage is on our side but for how long I do not know

They should slap these serial complainers with a big fine and allow us to then take out own action against them for harassment

That's the best story I have ever heard Soozorps [smilie=a_rolling.gif]

Although, I have to ask...Did you move because YOU wanted to or did that evil neighbour make you sell/decide to move from your home of however many years? :(

I hate it when the evil ones win in the end and force the good people from a home that they love & have lived in for years. :x

But, if it was time & you had naturally outgrown it & decided to move on through your own volition, then I have to say that really is the best story I have ever heard, when it comes to sticking it to the evil next door neighbour.

Oh...and I haven't been busted by the council yet. My pen is larger than council allows, & i am within my chook quota...for now

Cheers
Chicka-Dee

We have heard our council is proposing to change our bylaws of chickens but no idea what they plan to reduce it to but what ever it is we will fight them
