well today after making my newest pen i had to think of a good latch that will prevent the door opening easily. So i tried different ways to make one that wouldn't come undone easily, especially so little children can't get in and get what ever is in it. so after using different methods such as getting a nail on the door and and the main frame and then putting a spring holding on both nails it didn't hold so well, so it came to me that if i could find an old clip and bent two nails and then put the clip in one curved nail in the main frame and i could just clip it onto the curved nail attached to the door it worked perfectly and i stuck with the idea

here are the links to the pictures:

arent they called latches, hinges go on the other side of the door :-?
ingenious idea though, although i would suggest using "U" nails next time, as bending the nails would make them slightly less tight

well done

:x Well tahir here is the recount of my morning,
I see your messege and grab the camera and head down to the coop, first thing i do is check for eggs, and yep there are 3 and one odd white one witch has been cracked (possibly millies first)....anyway i get them out and put them on the floor and take a picture to show you guys.
Next whilst i am taking the photos a chicken escapes, grabs millies egg, and runs 100 miles an hour up the yard, with another chook hot on her heels, and they quickly consume her egg :( next i see Ella flying in the air hurdling towards me and my cat in the bushed about to pounce, so i quickly grab her and put her inside....meanwhile all the other girls have escaped and i return to the coop to find rosies and Debbies egg broken into and being consumed by Ginger!!!!!!!!
so thats my eventful morning, but i got the latch pictures and some extras,
ill post links once they have been accepted!!!
