Hi

We have a small chicken coop designed for bantams that we are building and thinking

to put suntuff polycarbonate corrugated roof panels for letting sunlight through on the

roof.

The roof is an arc starting at 45 centimeters to 1.3 meters in height.

Does anyone know whether a fox could chew or scratch through it?

If possible we just wanted to put it straight on the arc frame without mesh.

We have 2.5 millimeter thick wire in 25 millimeter squares on the sides, so its

very predator proof there.Any ones knowledge on this would be much appreciated

Arlene and Rami

My view is that polycarbonate would deter foxes but the weak point would be the strength of the attachment to the frame. For that reason I would not leave any overhang or gaps where a predator could get some leverage as it tried to push in and would fasten around the edges at close intervals.
Have you thought of providing some solid covering as well to provide shade?

The polycarbonate would be plenty strong enough to stop a fox but yes as doggo mention make sure its fastened well and they won't get in

Or line it with mesh for extra security if you are worried.
