That is a ripper coop you should be proud I would be. Hay your perches are to low may be a second set higher up would be ideal

Hey barnsey wave.gif

Thanks for sharing that was great. than657

Do the girls get to go out & around in your paddock where all the long green grass is?

I bet they'd find lots of bugs in those long grassy bits :-D

Cheers

I do know that the perches are to low I have to remove them to shovel under them.

But I am worried that the dog wire is not strong enough for most of the girls if I did use the ( what is that horizontal beam half way up the wall).
When it was just the fab four I did try it up there and Henrietta some how whent from a higher perch and over the top of the wire in to the storage half of the hen house ( warm day too.)

have read on you tube ( it was a comment there) that perches for light weights is 26 inches off the ground and heavy weights 16 inches.

Even where the perches are now Bertha had no idear or way to get on them she was good at knocking them down. or moving round them.

Next year I plan to enlarge the hen run mabe even a vegie patch.

I have read and been told that chookies would eat all green veggies in a veggie patch.
cheers
Yas

Theres no many they won't eat so wire an area off to keep them out.

Love your coop

Good size looks about 7 meters of run which is a good idea as a small shelter is all thats needed
