I bought some shell and oyster grit on ebay afew months ago how long would it keep for

And how young can chookies start eating it

It should last a long while as long, as its not exposed to the sun barnsey

I remember when Clara had her babies last year I put some shell grit in there for her & the babies pecked at it too.

It was so cute. :-D I think they were only a week old when they started pecking at it

So, they will eat it, but if they don't have a broody to show them, then it might be a while before they self learn to eat it.

Just store it in an air tight container too!

I always keep a small feeder with it in it so the chooks can peck at it when they want too!

The proper dried shell should last a good 6 months or more but don't let it get wet
