We've had 49's here on 4 days here in dec last year and the year before we dad 11 days of over 35 deg inc 46, 48 and 49 in 3 days and all our chooks, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, goats, cows, horses ect.... ect.... ect..... were all just fine sounds like some just like blaming the weather for killing their birds

I too have not lost a bird from the heat.
My coup is well ventilated and I have large trees that they all sit under.
I have a broody with one 3 day old chick and she sat in her cage through all this heat. She is ok. I put cool water over her head and face a couple of times to cool her down.
I have plenty of water around for all my birds in tubs as my dam is dry as a bone.
In the hottest part of the day while it was above 38c I hosed the roof and sides of the coup which cooled it down.
I do not give my birds frozen blocks nor do I put frozen bottles in the bowls.
I have heard that ice is not good for birds.
I know that bottles and not blocks were mentioned so just putting in my thoughts is all.

That is because your birds are obviously healthy and well housed as you described. th_clap.gif

Yes ice or very cold water can kill fowls. It should never be used
