I use the feathers for the zebra finches we have they love using them for breeding

Last year my Australorp pulled all her feathers out from her lower chest and across her abdomen, when she went broody. I heard that it was to get a closer, warmer touch with the eggs then chicks. We borke her broodiness in a couple of days, using the sin bin, but the feathers took 2-3 weeks to grow back again.

Crickey you should see my place I have a sea of feathers from 89 birds all molting at the same time
