They need to be educated with the reason for the nesting boxes.
As soon as you see them on the nesting boxes at night, take them off and put them on the roost.
It may take a couple of nights to do this so don't let them get into the habit now or it will be too hard to break them of it.
It won't take long. If they persist, just cover the boxes at night until they get the idea and take the cover off in the morning.

Good idea I had to do that with mine and it took several goes but they got it
