Hi
If I got 10 guineas, would they join the others? Will the birds just join the bigger flock? They are okay with chickens, yes?
By the way what is a good colour to start with?
Is white the toughest colour to get?
Should I get babies or young adults?
What is the best thing to do when starting a flock?
Thanks

If you already have guineas and you get more they will fight for some time before accepted can even be a year or more before they are accepted. Start with grey or lavender they are cheap

As for chickens they will hassle them for sure so watch them close.
Best colour to start is Pearl and Lavender both are the 2 basic colours.
Forget white as they are not for beginners and will cost you BIG $$$$
You can buy either age just keep them caged up if you buy young ones so the hawks don't take them.
Best thing to do is feed them well, not to hassle them, keep them in the cage for a couple of months or more, give them greens like grass they love that, fresh water and enjoy them.

Hi
than657 I LOVE the colour Lavender- can't get enough of it.
Maybe should they grow up with chickens?
I had some guineas before this they grew up with chickens and were fine.
Should I grow them up with chickens?
Should I buy some in spring or now?
than657 To everyone who answers my questions and is patient with me
Thank you

Even if they grow up with chickens you still have to watch them when breeding.

Your welcome we love to help anyone interested in fowls

You may find it hard to buy them now and they will be more expensive than in say november to feb/march when there's heaps around to buy

Would all the guinea fowls need to be the same age when first starting out?
