Do you guys think its a good or bad idea to buy eggs from farmstock? I have seen a few ads for fertile eggs but never purchased eggs before.

Any advice would be good

Thanks in advance
Jase

It would be the same as getting them from gumtree or alike , do you homework on the seller if legit then have a go if in doubt don't.

Just watch ads that say RARE! its just a sales pitch and 99.9% of the time not true

'rare' - 'extremely rare' = yes seen far too much these days

unless you know the breed well and KNOW the colour is rare - meaning in less than five breeders hands across the whole of OZ = run do not walk to the next ad

I usually recommend avoiding any ad anywhere that states 'rare' or a combination of words with 'rare' in the mix

another one to watch out for = fancy names for colours = unknown colour names, or a colour name that is obviously a mix of 2 known names

Yes I saw this ad

RARE Guinea Fowl mutations

including cinnamon, silver and lavender in pied and pearl.
All keets are guaranteed to be at least split cinnamon

from $25

I did not reply by the way as I know none of those are rare.

There is NOTHING rare about cinnamon, silver, lavender pied or pearl lets be very clear they are NOT rare.

Or what your money back? ALL keets cannot be split as hens cannot be split cinnamon so thats bulldust. At least the colour names are correct this time ;)
