Off topic but to save starting a new one, I recently acquired a breeding pair and after about 6 weeks the male has become quite aggressive in that he comes up to me, stops about 1 metre short and starts throwing sticks and stones in the air. He then circles me like Indians around a Wagon Train. I did put the foot out once and he struck at it. He is also chasing the chooks and turkeys.

I chase him off with a bamboo stick but he just comes back inya face again.

The female GF has only just started laying eggs. So is he being protective and dominant and bound to settle down out of breeding season or is he just a all round naughty boy.

How do I get to smoke a peace pipe with him?

You don't want him to stop, why? well he will protect not only the hen when she sits but also the keets and a male like that is worth his weight in gold. He will only do it in breeding and just accept it IMO!

I finally confiscated 31 eggs from two of my girls that were tag teaming in a nesting box and started to crack them open. After recovering from rotten egg gas fumes I decided to throw them against a large pine tree at a distance to break them open. Not one fertile egg. I think I need fresh male stock to ensure fertility.

Does anyone know any breeders in the Cowra region in NSW?

Lost a beautiful full grown bronze Gobbler to a fox this morning while I was away from the property for a few hours so I am not happy.

Is it possible a female does not have to pay eggs for 2 years even though she is 4 years old?
