Is it possible a female does not have to lay eggs for 2 years even though she is 4 years old?

I must have run over a Chinaman. My Pearl Pied hen and Lavender male pair produced 24 eggs that were due to hatch two days ago. I confiscated two eggs from the hen this morning and threw them against the pine tree. Yolk! I hold little hope for the rest of the eggs.

My other two hens, with a different male, are tag teaming on 32 eggs that are due to hatch this weekend. I have no faith that these eggs will result in keets either.

I am so envious of you all.
