these were incubated I believe, i only bought them as day olds as i have not had japs for about 8yrs,

i have hatched thousands of them and had great success with them,

i plan on trying to keep a small breeding group here but time will tell as i live in the heart of town, if the males get too rowdy i may just have girls here for fresh eggs (has anyone pickled there eggs?) really wanna try doing that.

actually one of the chicks has splayed legs, but the rest look really good and are eating and drinking as normal :-D

I have just got the jumbo quails and they are yet to breed so jealous of your cute little chicks.

Is it best to buy an incubator for hatching quails?

Annie u can hatch them with a broody bantam but i prefer to incubate them,

are urs mature yet?

maybe u need to put a light on them so they have 12-14 hrs of light a day, that will make them lay.

there growing like mad too, only had em four days and there bouncing around now, eating like horses or should i say little pigs with there snouts in the troughs lol
