I have posted all the extensive information available including links to information from sites such as International guinea fowl and explained in great detail all the facts till I'm blue in the face. I suggest you contact a geneticist to see if he can explain the facts to you or just get on and breed some cinnamon guinea fowl.

All the best for the future

Ace, how do you find the silvers get on with eye sight do they have problems at all like cinnamons. Also would using the silvers give a better colouring then cinnamon to cinnamon I know in some birds the colour can lesson or fade like when they are bred together.

I have them both together in one coop I find they give a good mix of silver and cinnamon and some of the cinnamons have a real silver undertone that are bred from the silver over cinnamon. The other coops have all cinnamons together or all silvers together and one spare coop for whites from PA when I can buy them

For what it’s worth ,,,Here are some links to Photos and Genetic Articles on Guinea Fowl Mutations:

Genetic articles based on Guineas Fowls Mutations:

http://www.guineafowlinternational.org/ ... netics.php

( Please Note) – Author – Does not mention RED EYED Mutations or “Cinnamon and Silvers”, This Red Eyed mutation seem to be very unique to Australian bred birds..

This website shows photos and a brief description of Guinea Fowl colours:

Photos and discussion on the Australian “Cinnamon” mutation:

Thanks GascoyneGuineas I don't have a lot of room so that would suit me, also I like the idea of the mix of silver and cinnamon. I need to build more coops so I can expand eventually and maybe one day I may also get some whites from peacocks australia but I will focus on the cinnamons and silvers for now. Thanks again GG

I have not had any problems with silvers eye sight and very little problems with cinnamons either. Cinnamon to cinnamon will give you cinnamon and a very small percentage of silver. Silver to cinnamon will give you both and some of the cinnamons will have a silver shadow because there are four basic and different loci (locations on chromosomes) where genes reside and determine the feather patterns (this was from an email from PA) so you will get varied colour

If you have room do both but it is not a must because you will breed both mutations and that is all good
