I have a trio, of breeding age, and I have two babies from them...dont mind the Guinea Fowl, intersting birds and very surprised at the difference in temperament from the wild parents to the kiddies, the kiddies are quite ok!

well they arnt technicly PADLOCKED, but they are in a very secure cage :-D
I keep them secure as beleive it or not they are quite rare ,and i would hate for anything to happen to them (stolen etc.)
Up close they don't really look like they are caked with mud ;) the're acually quite beautiful :-D

fair enough, I couldnt get close enough, they are skittish.

I actually have a white chicken I thought had rolled in the mud and was wondeirng why it was still so dirty everyday. Upon closer inspection, it has these real light brown and white mix of feathers, quite beautiful up close, like yours I guess. Ive never seen a chook with this colour feathering before.

Im too ignorant to understand whats rare and what isnt. I just look for pretty birds that catch my eye.. my eyes go all funny when I see lovely colours and glitter..... must be all the drugs sidesplit.gif

This whole prettier when up close also applies to Lavender Guineas, when they are strolling aroung the yard they just look light grey, but i had to catch a hen the other day for banding, and i had a really close look and their feathers are acually light lavender bluey/purple, in the sun she looked amazing

At last count a few months ago I had 38 but I have a few keets running around so that number would be closer to 45-50 I am guessing
