I have the first cockeral for at least 2 yrs. I mostly get hens. I have a white young hen which laid an egg which was the size of a very tiny parrot egg. I call it a L plater I would take a couple of photos but I seem to lack the knack of uploading to the forum gallery. I will have to try as I have photos to put in there. |

At what age does a cockeral start growing his spurs. I had a good look at this bird last night and no sign of spurs. Also absolutely no wattle yet. It is about 4mths old. |

Well I thought my chicken was a cockeral, it was deep voiced and loud when caught and long legged. I still has no spurs and it has filled out. Looks more like a hen. I think I know it's mum and she was the same all round. Same lankiness when young and very much the same colouring. I will take a photo today and post it. It's a good natured thing. If a hen I will be happy. Like I mentioned before I have not had a rooster in almost 2yrs. Only hens. |

Some roos don't get spurs until they are fully mature and even 2 years old |
