Has some sound advice and is something we can all do.
Most online here probably already are,but nice to know there are sound economic and environmental reasons other than just the sheer pleasure and satisfaction we draw from them.
My mother tells the story I walked at 9 mths and went str8 to the chook pen, thus beginning a lifelong facination, more than 60 yrs later they are still a major part of my life and will probably be the last thing to go before they cart me out in a box.
Should be compulsory reading for all suburban dwellers, just wonder how many could succeed with council regulations etc. There was a time no suburban backyard was complete without chooks, veg garden and fruit trees.
In some ways I think we have taken a step backwards.

excluding the ABC info = I reckon we should all have chooks in the 'burbs' to 'annoy' those neighbours that have been 'annoying' US for soooo many years - of course it would be with Councils not giving a hoot what yr neighbours say as all the counsellors would also have chooks :-D

I agree with soozorps this country would be a much better place if we all got back to the basics of our past. Kids in the veggie garden not on the streets
