Thank you Loo Loo. Here are a couple of photos. As I examine the chicks again, I am finding some tail bones - very small and pointing down, on birds that I previously thought had none. I image time will tell how these guys mature. I'll try to get some better photos comparing the tail and no tail chicks. At first I told the kids "oh, those ones are just slow to feather.." but they now look rumpless - even though these photos don't say much.

Thank you :-D
I can't say I was trying to breed chooks without butts, but I like them too.

Here is a tray of eggs ready for the incubator - the blue, green and even olive on the left are Easter Eggers with a couple of Araucana eggs, but they can't really be distinguished. On the right there are utility Leghorn, comercial cross layers (utility Austrolorpe, red layers) and Plymouth Rock (note the pinkish hue). I did get one egg that had a purpleish look to it, I assume from the rock pink hue with the tan and blue, but I don't think I got a photo then I sold the pullet.

Oooooooh

That's so cool.

That's what I want. A multi-coloured basket.

Everyone who gets eggs from me would be tickled pink or blue or green or olive     sidesplit.gif

I can't wait to see them in real life wee.

I am happy to say that a breeder took on the rumpless chicks with a view to getting a line going. Only time will tell if my no-butt chookies can reproduce rumpless. Thank you to all who took an interest.
