Firstly, thank you, kindly 52.gif Chickababe for your assistance in the egg pick up.

Secondly, thank you, kindly 52.gif to my Mum buying the eggs and cleaning out the old nesting box drawer and making a cosy comfy nest for Lady Frances to sit.

Thirdly, please say a prayer that Lady Frances will sit, thank you, kindly 52.gif

Thank you, kindly 52.gif Chickababe and Yas,

We took the box and eggs out as Lady Frances was stepping on them, then under the moonlight put them under her. As soon was we opened the back door this morning she was out of the box and hasn't gone back

The lady said they were fresh eggs and can keep them for 10 days, do we have a plan C?

After spending 4 weeks in a state of semi broodiness, and with a lovely clutch of eggs to sit on, Lady Frances decided that she rather spend the entire day sitting under the shade of the gum tree

Because of the hot weather the eggs have been removed from the nesting box and placed in the cellar until we can think of a plan B, and plan C...

Do you think that she can differentiate the egg colour? Hers are rather chocolate? She was still spending time in the nesting box until we set the eggs there yesterday...Got off when my Mum went out to hang the washing early this morning and then my Dad let her out

Do we have another attempt tonight?

One last attempt, the eggs have just been put under Lady Frances, can you believe that she IS STILL AWAKE! But not sleeping in her normal bed room but where we set the eggs.

Taking a whole day off isn't a good sign but you never know, she may jump back on.

If it doesn't work you could put them under another broody hen or maybe incubate them.

A couple weeks ago I took my little chicks down to the chook pen to meet the others and they were all very inquisitive. The next day I had 2 broody hens lol and they still wont budge........plan C maybe PP? [smilie=a_chuckle.gif]
