Lady Frances is STILL making those sad clucking noises each morning :(

We have introduced new little ones, even given her a clutch of fertile eggs as she has spent 4 weeks mostly in seclusion in the nesting box.

I guess she is still grieving the death of her bestest friend.

How long to chooks mourn for?

Depends on the chookie in question

Within the what I called the fab four
Bertha lost a Chookie friend of her own breed before she came here in November last year she mourned for about three and a half weeks.

The Isa's didn't care at all.

The Isa's didn't care when Bertha passed away.
But each time one of their own passed away they mourned about a day or two.

Lady Frances must of loved Lola deeply so she will feel better in her own time just lots of cuddles and perhaps, How old is Gertie And Misty they could help Lady Frances

Your council restriction is unfair to you and Lady Frances
If boss chookie and Mr rooster were still with you they may have helped Lady Frances with her loss

its lovley to see a close bond in-betweens two chookies
noticed two of the Isa's getting that way Harriet and Henrietta
and heart breaking for them when one passes away

I lost 2 hens about 2 weeks apart and I have no doubt the second one died from stress with the loss of her friend as she was perfectly fine until a fox took her mate then she stopped eating and dies 2 weeks later

[smilie=welcome.gif] roy35, I am so sorry for your losses.

Lady Frances is reclusive in her nesting box and makes the most mournful clucking noises early each morning, I think she has nightmares and doesn't like waking up alone.
