Introducing the new family members of the Clara & Clyde Clan :-D

I am so proud of my girl. :-D

She has produced 3 beautiful babies.

Now I'm thinking I should name them something beginning with C, but I'm not sure if that might become a little confusing. conf665

i'll just have to wait and see their little personalities emerge before deciding on their names

congt334 Chicka-Dee,

Clara has done a wonderful job chicken4.gif . The three little babies are so cute.

Clara is absolutely gorgeous. Are her chicks going to look similar to her when they grow up?

congt334 , are Clara's baby's father Cylde, is he also a Speckled Sussex?

They will make a very handsome family!

Thanks guys than657

Clara is doing a super job looking after her babies. :-D

She's still sitting on the remaining 7 eggs which I don't think are going to hatch but she still seems vigilant on sitting in them.

Should I take them all away at once?.....or should I just gradually take them away? conf665

PP, I will post a photo of the proud dad as I think all I've posted o far s a pics Clyde's eye. But to answer your question...yes, he is also a Speckled Sussex, so I hope the babies turn out like their parents :-D

From eggsperiene with Boss Chookie, I wouldn't leave them more than 3 days for late hatches if they were all set at the same time. Sometimes the mum can become obsessed with sitting on the unhatched eggs. Were the unhatched eggs candled? Are there any signs of potential life?

Okay good to know.

I haven't candled all & some actually seem like there is potential signs of life, which is why I wasn't sure what to do, but I will at least take away the ones that are clear.

Would the clear ones be okay to cook up? Or, Should I throw these away?

Opinions???

Throw them out, they may explode, nothing worse than the smell of a bad goog [smilie=rlp_smilie_207.gif]
