Just an open floor question for everyone with regards to Australorp x Araucana. I was toying with the idea of blue egg laying Australorps as a sales marketing area as I like the look of the Australorps like many do but the eggs are plain and boring. So if I crossed the two breeds how many generation of breeding would it take to breed back to the look of an Australorp but they still lay the blue eggs?

I like your idea and if you use an australorp roo then use the f1 pullets back to him you may in 2 or 3 generations get the results

Araucana crosses would have muffs and tufting depending on the parents.

The look of the off spring would depend on what colour Araucana parent you use.
