I have a mix of hens but egg output is dreadful. I.e last week 3 eggs from 12 girls. They are varied breeds. Should I buy Isa Browns? What about white leghorn or leghorn crosses .?

I had a 10yr old Austral Orp that still laid.
I had 5 yr ol hens of RIR x AO still laying.
I too am having trouble with egg production.
18 hens and 7 eggs yesterday was a good day.
I do know that the weather plays a big part.
