 Post subject: Anyone successfully keep a rooster in suburbs?

For years now we have had pet hens, we would really love to have a rooster and some chicks to sell/keep and start getting into pure breeds. (Still yet to pick one)
Can it be done in the suburbs? We live on a 1/4 acre block.
I've read about brining them inside at night???

A friend that I see from time to time on cold night has 2 roosters and he's in the burbs and no complaints
