Quote David - The presence of this gene has not been established to exist in Australia.

Not been established by whom, David?
I can tell you without a doubt Cream Legbars DO exist in this country. I've been breeding for almost 51 years so I know who has them but don't ask I won't divulge who they are.

As The last post here was quite some time ago, has there been any progress with this breed recently? I would like to acquire a couple of these chooks if they are available somewhere. I'm not a breeder but a backyard chook lover and am interested in having a variety of interesting looking chooks/eggs.
Cheers

Nangkita, Easter Eggers might be what you need to get variety in a backyard flock. Easter Eggers lay a tinted egg - sky blue through to olive green. They come in a range of colours and markings, often have crests, ear muffs and beards. I can confirm that Easter Eggers are currently available in the Brisbane area.
Not that I wouldn't like to know who is breeding Cream Legbars ;)

Hi there.

I am a backyard chook admirer, and I am keen to acquire some Easter Eggers. Can anyone advise me on where I can get them? I am in the Tweed area, and would travel to Brisbane to get them. Many thanks
Pamos.

Hi Pamos,
I'll send you a private message, but I have a batch of cheeky Easter Egger chicks running about outside. They are only a couple of months old. A few males like to run up to visitors and even pick at shiny shoes. Yesterday a surprised lady took her gold shoes off, and I urged her to put them back on as I knew her toes would be the next attractive thing. It is funny to be greeted by such short cheeky birds but perhaps I should put up a sign "Never mind the dog, beware the Easter Egger Chicks!". I'll see if I can rustle up some photos.

Hi David and Dapto_Poultry

I am about to launch a website about Cream Legbars here in Australia and in the process of researching noticed the comments between you two.
Here is the post that I have put in to request help on the History in Australia. I am hoping that you can assist.
Hi,

I am wanting to contact anyone who has Cream Legbars or who knows of the history of the development of this breed in Australia.
I am putting together a website on Cream Legbars and want to accurately portray the history in the "Australian" section.

I have bred a number of Cream Legbars over the last couple of years and I am a member of the International Cream Legbar Club. My purpose is to find out some of the background that has led to their development here in Australia and to connect with like-minded people who wish to promote this breed here in Australia.

If you can help in this regard please contact me per email. The website should be ready to launch at Easter time.

Cheers

Terry
