Treating Coccidiosis

You should begine treatment immediately and "Baycox" is a very affective treatment, this may only be available from a Vet. The a dose rate is 3ml per liter, with the first 2 doses morning and night administer orally (direct to the beak) using a syringe (without a needle) and administer 2.5ml of the mix (that is the mix of 3ml Baycox in 1 litre of water) It is also likely that the trigger may have been a mild respiratory infection which lowers the immune system.the first treatment is over 2 days so you make up the mix for day 1 and take out 5ml for the two direct doses then put the rest in their water bow (make sure there is no other water source) replace the mix on day 2. Then 3 week’s later treat them again in their water only (no direct doses are needed) then repeat 3 months later. It’s very important to repeat the treatment 3 week & 3 months as the birds will be carriers but once the birds show no outward symptoms the disease will be dormant.

Tip:
* Take the water away approx 6 hours before you begin treatment, that way they will drink it Peafowl must drink morning and dusk.
* Only feed grain during treatment, NO greens.
* Wash you hands after handling the birds.
* Isolate any and all affected birds

Thanks
