HI Sturat,

There is a sticky on Rickets in this forum. It can affect chooks and cause things such as limping.

If Rickets is suspected you need to increase Vit D, calcuim and perhaps phospherous.

It is good to make up a moist mixture to encourage them to eat with those vits in it.

Something like the below split into 3 meals a day.
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon honey
2 x tablespoons natural yoghurt not the flavoured yoghurt. Help bring the digestive system back into balance.
1 teaspoon calcium powderot liquid clacium
3 tablespoons rolled oats or baby rice cereal. To give some substance to the feed
and perhaps a small sprinkle of multi vits for chooks or birds.

If the chook is off its feed one may have to forse feed it 3 times a day 'til it regains strength

hi country lodge and greenaus, this is a bit off topic but i will say that i burst out with laughter when i read ''sturat'' and ''stewed rat''. ive got the laughs anyway today but very funny guys. well done. leigh
