I had the scale return 3 times before finally getting rid of it not that easy. Also check and treat any new fowl you bring home I learnt that from an auction fowl that had it

= assume that any and all birds new to you have them and check and treat as needed

I guess that's because the mites themselves are microscopic ie you literally need a microscope to see them.
what you do see are the burrows they dig into the skin which results in the thickened, honeycombed look.
If the skin is covered in feathers then seeing the lesions can be tough!

Hi everyone really new to this forum and looking after chickens. I have recently got 3 chickens and one needs treatment for leg mites. I have heard about washing and dipping in olive oil has anyone else tried this and what success did you have. Thanks
