Entry to a poultry show is open to all comers.
There is no obligation to be a Poultry Club Member to exhibit poultry, so I see no reason the National in Canberra would be any different.
Most organisations look to maximising the entry and to fill available pens to capacity.

That is good to know as I though to show you would have to be a member but that is good you do not

Anyone is free to enter and exhibit, as said you do not have to be a member.
However there are some advantages to being a member.
One is you ensure the survival of the club and support for the poultry breeders in your area.
Often as a member you are eligible to enter special classes or pointscores run by the club for members only.
You also recieve a discount on entry fees, often you only have to enter a few at the reduced rate to pay for your annual membership fees.
Then you are able to attend and vote on issues that come up and are discussed at club meetings, you also build lifelong friendships away from the competitiveness of just attending a show and having no real involvement in issues that effect and concern us all.
Become involved, don't just be a fringe dweller, the rewards can be quite unexpected to say nothing of the satisfaction it brings to know you are making a contribution.

I agree with you the clubs need the breeders support or they do not have a club
