I am proud to ring mine with the NAPIS

Good idea raf all clubs MUST comply with the laws (anti discrimination) on 'not for profit' aka 'inc'

Dob them in if they don't comply

The NAPIS Ringing Scheme is in the 3rd year trial stage.
NAPIS Ring orders will be accepted from June 1st 2014 and the Closing Date for NAPIS Ring
orders is 30th June 2014 for delivery late in July 2014, for 2015 showing. The colour of the ring this year will be Red.

IN 2012 orange plastic rings were used and in 2013 Gold Aluminium Rings were used. The trial has shown that the Aluminium Rings are stronger and more durable. The cost has risen this year due to the better quality ring and postage costs.
A10, B12,C13, D14 rings 35 cents each Including Postage
E15,F16,G18, H20 40 cents each including Postage
J22, K24,L26,M28 50 cents each including Postage

NAPIS Committee members last year absorbed the extra cost of the Aluminium Rings as the change from plastic to aluminium was after all prices had been set.Higher postage costs were also paid for by the committee members.

Its wonderful all the clubs and good breeders have embraced the national poultry rings but its not surprising as most people have a brian and some common sense

I use coloured rings for each year & can easily identify birds at a distance - I do have several pens though. If I line breed I place a ring on right leg of the pullet off spring, if it is an outcross, I put a ring on left leg and if I buy a bird in - 2 rings on right leg. This does require record keeping though and I have had the same breed for 30 years.
It works for me.
