[smilie=a_goodjob.gif] Its about time . All other breeds are registered, and poultry theft is increasing.

Won't help stopping theft as thieves will just cut the ring off but the other benefits are huge and the smart people with pure bred poultry will be right behind the system. The negatives will come from those with cross breed pet quality fowl and they bring up stupid objections

Better poll = should all Exhibition Poultry be microchipped as well as leg banded

I microchip my birds - hard to locate them to remove them without serious damage to the bird

I also microchip all my birds including the parrots such as macaws and yb chattering Lories its not as cost affective as leg rings but permanent which leg rings are not. I have only a few fowls but I think a leg ring system should be in place, to be honest I was very surprised it was not already

Its a cost factor soozorps microchipping cost much more than leg rings as the price of the rings are 20c each. But I agree a better way
