I went to a show recently in WA and I noticed what I felt was 3 fowl that were sick and I soon left with fear I could carry the disease home to my place. It got me thinking how safe are these poultry show and is disease spread at some? Its put me off ever showing I wonder if you feel them same and has anyone seen sick fowl at shows like I have |

I have seen plenty of sick and diseased fowl at sales and auctions to put me off ever showing if I want a ribbon I will go and buy one for $3 not worth the risk |

If you go you need to take a long hard look at what you are buying as you may end up buying more than you bargained for LooLoo |

I go to a few auctions mainly purebred auctions! Never seen a crook bird at purebred auction but have been to other anything goes Auction and have seen lousy birds, sick, feather pecked you name it. At the end of the day whoever is running these auctions is responsible for allow sick or injured birds on site. There are big fines if caught by agencies such as RSPCA. Report sick birds to auctioneer and avoid selling or buying at these auctions. If we don't support them, then they don't last. |

I agree they need to be reported. Never been to a pure bred auction so cannot comment on that Raf |
