I love to hear of people wishing to show, with all the hassle that comes with getting your fowls ready it is a fun and nervous experience and nothing beats the feeling you get if you can take out the top award of the day BIRD OF SHOW having achieved this is an amazing feeling knowing that the judge deemed your bird the best exhibited on the day........

I strongly enchourage everyone to get in and have a go and have as much fun as I do

P.S. and the people you in your persuit to breed and show in this fancy
enrich your lives so much I know they have mine.

:-D Go forth andgo grt'em.......................

My son will be showing next year 2011 if we breed the quality we hope to. It’s a good social event and the shows we have been too have been such a joy for my son and he has already met 3 young breeders willing to help him.

Showing is a great way to meet people with your same interest. Its like another little family

To all the new showers out there all I can say is make yourself known to the exhibitors who have been at it for years and they will try to help you out.

Best of luck to you all and I hope to meet you at a show

P.S. I have been breeding and showing for 5 years now and have won 3 bird of show at ag shows and 2 reserve at ags as well as going out front a few times, but today I went out front at my first club show.It was a great feeling because the comp is always much fearicer at club show and it was a bird I breed myself and wasn't given or bought,It just shows I must be doing something right in the breed pen,and It shows that I asked the right people for help when I got started.................

I have only entered a show once which was the Perth royal and got 2 3rd's but I have to admit I was happy with that being my first show. I hope to enter again and with a bit of luck maybe a 1st?

yep, showing is great....you get to take your "pride and joys" out for the day, meet like minded people, look at other beautiful birds, and not think about the general stressors in life (they can be left at home on show day), think more about next season's chickens, and maybe take home a pretty card, ribbon, or trophy th_clap.gif

I used to show dogs....poultry and waterfowl shows are alot more fun :-D

I look forward to the day when my stock is up to scratch and I can enter a show with pride knowing I bred the chicken and regardless of whether I win or not its the spirit in which I am most interested
