ducks and geese judged

I have only ever been to one show and I noticed the judge taking out chickens and feeling the breast area and stretching the wings out so it got me wondering if they do the same with ducks? and geese? in the shows and how the judge handles a big goose?

sometimes they don’t handle the geese – they look at the bird in the pen then walk them out into a fenced off area to see them walking around it depends on the judge and how big the bird is I suppose

they do handle the ducks though

I wouldn't like to handle some of the geese I have seen and heard I will see if I can watch at the next show

The last show I attended they did not handle the geese at all they judges only with their eyes

Do many people show Cape Barren Geese I have been to the royal show and never seen them there

I have never seen them at a show and don't think people do show them because they are not a common goose

if they are in the Australian Poultry Standard they can be shown

look at smaller shows - State and Regional even local ones - many breeder/exhibitors dont like going to the Royals as their birds are there for too long

That is a good point yes many I know will not enter the royals for that reason
