Clubs are defiantly worth joining and you can make many good friends as I have and have many a good day out with them. Just ignore anyone with a big ego

The friendships are worth joining for but many people will now opt for the internet and APF because it is the same thing virtually but you get to meet 10's of thousands of people and not just 1 or 2 hundred if your lucky. Still I do like going along to the club shows and chatting so worth joining and supporting

The good thing about a real life poultry club is that you often get opportunities to talk to old timers who aren't internet users. Sometimes they have have gems to share if you can get them talking.

Absolutely eggsalive :-D I have been wanting to join my local poultry club for about a year now but unfortunately their meeting day was the same as another commitment I had :( They are not avid internet users, the web site is outdated but the Secretary does check emails and has helped point me in the right direction for breeders etc on several occassions even though I am not a member!

My New Year's Resolution - join our local Poultry Club a_partyguy.gif

perhaps you can join then volunteer to help get the Club into the internet world?? they all have to start sooner or later or they will be lsightly behind those that are internet savvy

My main Clubs Secretary and President are both very internet savvy we even get colour News Letters via email [smilie=a_goodjobson.gif]

so if yr local Club tries the old 'but I'm too old to learn the internet" garbage quote me - I am also internet literate (not good at it but literate) and I am not young = age has nothing to do with it = giving it a try is what it is all about

# notice me being pushy here [smilie=a_biggrin.gif] [smilie=poke.gif]
