Christmas xmastree.gif is too commercial there is too much emphasis on how much we actually spend on material gifts; sadly we have lost the true meaning of Christmas :(

Here are a couple of charity Christmas gift ideas for your consideration.

"It is better to give than to receive..." Especially if you are helping someone else!
Merry Christmas! I got you a flock of chooks: http://www.oxfamshop.org.au/viewproduct/16850839

It doesn't even have to be Christmas to support this great cause!
Flowers? Oh dear, I thought you said a bunch of fowls: http://www.oxfamshop.org.au/viewproduct/7833011

Or
You're hard to buy for! Have a chicken: http://www.oxfamshop.org.au/viewproduct/7832938

Edgar's Mission also have a Christmas Gift Store that sell Christmas cards, calendar, plush toys and adoption cards if you want to support locally.

And finally the RSPCA have gift cards

This us a wonderful topic. My Dad and his family have supported this gift giving for the last 6 or so years. Any grandchild over the age of 13 now participates in selecting a gift of giving.

We have in the past supported Everything in Common.

Great alternative gifts, our whole family all chip in for a nominated charity rather than give each other gifts any more.

I think just to be together on Christmas day as a family and to share a meal is all we need. So many people out there who are spend Christmas alone and or are homeless :( Even helping out at the local Salvation Army on Christmas serving lunch is great way to spend Christmas; or perhaps invite some you know who would be spending Christmas alone.
