Post subject:  Considering getting some Jap Quail

Hi there to all
I have been considering getting some Jap Quail happening but after cruising the net I am a tad confused.
Some people say they are a quiet bird, others say not. chicken.gif
Do they have a similar call to the wild brown quail that we have here.
Where they would be kept is in former stables and that is right next to the neighbours house but we "were here long before their house was put up"
We are Rural 1C and have no restrictions on what we can have but have a neighbour that has built very close to us after we sold the 5 acres next door to them.
I currently have a lot of mixed purebred poultry including ducks and don't want to stir the pot so to speak.
So can people clarify for me just how noisy they are??? [smilie=a_withstupid.gif]
I have considered looking on U- TUBE but speakers are "busted custards" so cant hear just how noisy they are.
We were offered Guinea Fowel for free but as my mum said they fly like angels! "straight up into the nearest tree" [smilie=a_doh.gif]
I love them but I don't think the neighbour would.
I don't think the quails would be as noisy as the Guinea Fowel. th_Noooo.gif
I was given the impression that the Jap Quail just 'EAT - POOP - EAT - GROW - AND SO ON.
Thank you wave.gif
As one of our members say "If it honks or quacks I want it"
We love the business of the birdie thing!!! and everything here is kept really neat and spic and span, and as I said on another site "It's Birdie Hilton" here.
It's actually been referred to as the "tahjmahal for chook's"
Thank you for any opinion's as our neighbour is fine so far about everything but don't want to push it.

Quail are very quite and under noise laws would be well under the decibels of the nuisance noise laws. Also they only call for a short time and are no louder than you talking loudly and 1/10 of a dog barking so you should have no issues
