The "lavender" is a "self blue" the same thing just different names depending if you live here or in other countries. The gene is recessive and much like "slate blue" so breeding is a simple process. The lavender mutation in the palm occurs in many countries like the USA and UK but also Germany and they are all the same as found here with the female breeders.

Great info RT yes was looking at a US site that has lavender palms and it was talking about the use of blue slate with their self blue [aka lavender] and the genes being recessive. I do hope the ladies can get these established to show the blokes up who don't have them

That would be great to see I have seen a couple of pictures of supposed lavender[aka selfblue] royal palms but they were very poor quality/feather/condition and colour not good at all, horrible actually, so would be good to see some proper lavender RP and quality

I started this colour for my backyard a few years ago = but gave up due to other commitments – good to know others are doing them :-D

I know 2 BLOKEs = yep I said BLOKEs that have RPs - so no they are not just for the ladies

1 has the regular Black and White ones the other has the B & W and these self Blue/Lavender as well

they dont supply to the public atm tho = building up numbers

I have the B & W still - just a quad nothing spectacular - just for meat for the freezer

go on - - - - - - - - - - - - - - have a conniption fit at that thought ;)
