G'day

At the mo, at work we keep Stubble, Brown Quails, Black-breasted & Painted Button-quails. We did have Red-backed, Red-chested, Little Button-quails & King Quails...

I have kept, Californian, Bobwhites, Japs, Kings and now I am trying to get my hand on Common Quail (Coturnix coturnix) ;)

Do you have any problem with hens incubating full term? I have 1 pair of buttons that she get off a few days before they are due and the eggs are lost

Um...with Button-quails, only the males sit and incubate the eggs. If you have any problems, remove the female from the aviary :)

What species of Button-quail are they?

Well there is my problem right there DOH!! why would the hen be sitting? if I take her out will the male then sit on the eggs?

If she is sitting in the nest, she is most likely trying to lay an egg...

Jeez, someone hasn't done their homework :P hehe

No she is actually sitting on the eggs as in 24/7 but not full term
