Hi everyone, do you keep Quails? We have California, Painted & Swamp. We have 12 Californians chicks in the Brooder at the moment, they are born running Thanks P.A |

I had King and Jap quail many years ago, and loved watching them run around the aviary floor (some of my budgies used to ride them!). The Kings run wild on the farms around here - it was always lovely to see them whirring up in front of the horses or ute when we visited friends. I never had any success breeding them, though. We always ate the Jap eggs, and the King babies were so small and fragile that they always met with some mishap. One day I'd like to get some parrots and quail again. |

Would love to have quails but i'd have to build them a new inclosure or could they live in a 1m by 1m cage? |

I think the 1m by 1m cage would be fine for king quails, provided they have a lot of plants and things in it as they like dense shrubs. Peter |
