I have Jap quail though they are getting a bit old and havent layed for ages when they do I will have to incubate some eggs and re stock. We pickle there eggs they are really tasty in salads or just on crackers, they boys love the curry flavoured pickled eggs with beer... If there is anyone around Gippsland I would be very interested in buying some young birds this spring to get some new blood in the mix. |

I have jap quails 2 mature birds, hopefully not too mature/old that they won't lay and hatched 2 from posted eggs (was 48 eggs only 5 hatched and then 3 died) remaining 2 are only 3weeks old, so unsure of sex nora wrote: We pickle there eggs they are really tasty in salads or just on crackers, they boys love the curry flavoured pickled eggs with beer... Would it be possible to start a thread on how you pickle the eggs, sounds yum, already like beer so can't go wrong If there is anyone around Gippsland I would be very interested in buying some young birds this spring to get some new blood in the mix. thanks |

Max do you have the bob whites on their own? Do yours show aggression towards people? |

Hi, I have some mixed with the general population on the floor with japs, king and calis . Not aggressive at all, although they do give the nesting budgies a hard time by trying to roost on their nest boxs. The others are in separate cages within the main aviary. |
