Hello quail keepers I have 4 pairs of jap quails and have been offered a pair of chuckers very cheap $10 pair but if I get them will they be ok in with the jap quails? The aviary is 15 x 10 and has lots of plants and shrubs but they will still come in contact at some stage will they get along

I believe Quail can be quite territorial so you may have some issues.

Can you section an area of the aviary for the Chuckers to reside so they can see each other through wire and become accustomed to each other? At a later stage you could probably remove the divide and keep an eye on them.

Probably trial and error I'd think, maybe a couple of weeks? I would watch the behaviour of the quail when they meet at the wire. When they stop acting aggresively toward them you could try releasing them together but keep a close eye on them for a while. You don't want to come back to any deaths.

I have them side by side in two aviaries and they never fight so I would also try them in the future and see how they go

I would not do it unless you had a lot of space. Chukar partidges are known for aggression.
