We have a heap of them that inhabit our yard in Brisbane. I would not actually say 'keep' though as I'm forever chasing the dratted things out of the garden.

The University of Qld grounds at St Lucia have a lot of the birds running wild too.

I imagine they are protected and would require a permit to keep them in a cage?

Have you read this, Found! Albino bush turkey chick
http://noosa-journal.whereilive.com.au/ ... key-chick/

We have lots of normals here in noosa but not seen the Albino but its apparently still around and now an adult according to the local watchers and a friend claims to have seen the mum which is also an albino with a normal male
