The short answer is yes, however I have kept turkeys and chooks together for years and it can be done.
The reason that most people will tell you, you can't keep turkey's and chooks together is a disease called Blackhead. Chooks carry it and it kills turkeys. I have never seen it myself, nor have my parents when they kept chooks and turkeys years ago. Keep your birds healthy, worm them regularly, spray for lice, feed them well etc and I think you risk is much reduced.

Other problems are turkeys are bossy. They will knock chooks off perchs and chase them away from food. Ideally Turkeys should have a separate perch area to chooks and there should be plenty of feed stations.
Some turkey toms can start riding chooks which is fatal for the chooks. If this starts your only answer is to confine the tom or get rid of it.
There is probably more but it's too early in the morning and I need more coffee.
Happy turkey keeping.

I was given a baby turkey that got on really good with my chhoks until he got full grown then he got too bossy and wouldn't let the hens in the boxes to lay eggs so I had to give him away

Mine mix every day out in the garden but they don't roost in the same coop. I do have the occasional dust up between one of the roosters and the tom but they have never hurt each other just their pride some times

I think the big concern is disease I don't know if it’s justified but I think turkeys get a bad rap most of the time. I have friends that mix all sorts of poultry together like chooks turkeys duck geese even a swan and for most of the time they seem happy enough. I guess it’s an individual decision and keeping your poultry healthy
