Many a truth said in jest DaveK.

Despite their many charms as a pet, bindie and bug remover, fertiliser delivery service and sociable outdoor decoration, turkeys are also very tasty.

At risk of offending (please think before you type...) I do process surplus male birds - my Christmas tom dressed at 13 kilos and there is no comparison to the product available in the freezer section at Coles or Woolies. Free range heritage breed turkey as a table bird is a sought after in some part of Australia - and for good reason. Even people who don't like commercial turkey may like like heritage free range.
