How would I go using a bantam to hatch bulk jap quails I don’t have a incubator so my options are very limited

I would like to know this too as I have looked at them many times at the pet shop and I have been told that bantams will hatch them.

Hi Blackeyes,
Never had to use an alternative for hatching as I've always had the luxury of an incubator.
When I was at High School in the 60's I had a mate from USA that moved her and was as chook mad as I was .
He used to use a pidgeon to hatch the eggs, take her eggs when she laid her 2nd and they hatch i about the same time, she was light enough not to damage them, used to give her a few at a time.
He also used to set duck, geese and hen eggs under a turkey.
Came to school one day all upset and annoyed the turkey had broken the quail eggs he set under her and wondered why we all broke up laughing.
Good luck finding an alternative, I would bet a bantan like a Pekin, x pekin or the like should handle 20, see how you go.I have seen bantam hens steal a nest and bring out 18 with only one or two left unhatched, if she can cover that many of her own should breeze it in with 20 quail eggs.

As they hatch would you take them away from the foster mother I ask this because I wonder if she would squash them being so little?

I wouldnt use a pekin because they have featherd feet and they will crush the eggs, silkies are dopey because of the crest and quail chicks are very fragile and the oeg would most likely be too heavy i would use a jap bantam if anything but i still would expect too much.

Forgot to mention a pair of pigeon would be very good as suggested before just remember to take the chicks away once they hatch
