Hi All,
I have 4 light Sussex, I bought them all as pullets, but one is obviously bigger than the others.
Is it just an older pullet or is it a cockerel?

I think so as well just look at the tail feathers and size of his lobs. Did you want to breed them?

Thank you,

I would love to keep a rooster, but I'm sure my neighbours would have something to say about that.

Its weird, because he hasn't made any hint of a crowing attempt.

I am disappointed that I paid for pullets and got a bird that is very obviously different looking than the other 3 (you would think a breeder of Sussex would know), I was suspicious at the time, but they were brought up from the south coast from someone who was going to the airport in Sydney, so I had to take it.

It will end up being an expensive chicken dinner.

Defiantly does,
Any ideas as to why he has shown no signs of crowing?

Some cockerels will only crow at 12 months or more and some rarely crow at all, maybe he is a late bloomer ;)
