Too damn hot for much at present.
We've gone to town with mustard and cucumbers, but without rain we're going to struggle.
I usually wait til late february to plant, and then I usually dig in a crop of mustard or other green manure to start the next crop.
In the meantime, we're setting seed of fruit trees and/or potting on those seedlings into larger pots for later planting.
If the rotten flying foxes would give us a break, we could actually enjoy some of that same fruit the seeds came from! We can't even pick up the scraps and feed them to the chooks and pigs due to biosecurity risks like Hendra virus, etc.

February to march we'll do a mass planting of silver beet and rainbow chard, staggering the rows two weeks apart for continuity over the next 6plus months to give our girls ( and roosters) green pick, after which the other green crops kick in like rocket, pak choy, lettuce and then the brassicas like cauli and cabbage.

Cheers,
Andrew
