Just curious, do any of you pigeon fanciers have problems with birds of prey?
I have Goshawks (already terrorised chooks once, and eaten one), little hobbies (a type of falcon), Kookaburras and Ravens all nesting and foraging in my area. Is it worth my while attempting to keep pigeons, or would this be an exercise in futility?

i have had a problem with cats and falcons cant do much about it tho but you can still have pigeons if you like the more fancy pigeons like the Nuns or Fantails i would just keep them in the loft as they dont really fly anyway but rember if you have a wire roof dont put there perches to close to the wire as the hawk or falcon will just dive down and grab and eat it threw the wire all of my pigeons are locked up exept for my racers and x breeds

i have pigeons.
I used to have neighbors that had a cat that tries to go into the loft but since i have a guard dog, thats no longer a problem,it never tried to enter my dogs territory after he nearly got rid of her , i don't really have magpies or hawks or anything around my area so thats good..

can you make your cat befriend it?? like hold the bird next to it everyday while being very cautious?? just a suggestion

we get a lot of little falcons and they catch the little brown pigeons that are wild sad when I see it happen.
