hi all my dad was barcking a branch of
a tree that had a lot of finch nests in it and
there waws a ;little finch nest in the branch that
he pold of the tree and and the nest want with it
and there was one egg in the nest so I pot it in my lizerd
pen up ware they cant reach it would it still hach.

Im not sure what tempreture your enclousure is set at but it could hatch and if it does what are you going to do with it? There are a few things you need to ask your self,
Do you have the knowlage to raise a bird(let alone a bird of this size)
Do you have the right equiptment?
and do you have the time?

when you say (let alone a bird of this size) do you now wat the size will be.
How long dose it tack for a finches egg to hatch.

They are very small and it will take around 16 days you will need some good tools to raise it

what are the tools needed, and is there a way to tell the age of the egg ;)

You can candle it to see how developed (sp) it is.

The bigger and more important issue is do you know what species of finch it is?

Are you positive it is a finch?

Could it be a wren?

Have you taken into consideration that it may be a species that requires a completely different formula (food mix) than a seed eating finch to be raised?

Seed eating and insect eating finches are hand-raised on different formulas depending on species and diet.

Can admin please put spell check back on these boards??
